Final Application for Election Expense Funding Related to COVID-19 for the July 14, 2020 Runoff Election and the November 3, 2020 General Election

The Secretary of State's office was allocated $7,798,408.00 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, to prepare for and respond to election activities related to the July 14 Primary Runoff Election and the November 3 General Election.

For the July 14 Primary Runoff Election, the Secretary of State's Office reimbursed Alabama's counties $2,219,420.57 of the total $7,798,408.00 in funding, leaving a remaining balance of $5,578,987.43.

Of the $5,578,987.43 remaining, the Secretary of State's Office reimbursed Alabama's counties $2,572,738.39 for the November 3 General Election. Leaving a remaining balance of $3,006,249.04.

This Application serves as the last opportunity for counties to request reimbursement for any eligible and reasonable expenses that were unplanned or have not been previously requested.

The deadline for a County Commission to apply is December 1, 2020. Any applications received after the deadline of December 1 will be rejected. It is imperative that you submit your applications by the deadline.

All parts of the application must be completed in order to be considered for funding by the Secretary of State’s Office.

For complete transparency, the Secretary of State’s Office will be reporting to the United States Election Assistance Commission how the funding was allocated and expended in Alabama.
