Welcome to the Secretary of State's Record of Proclamation System. This facility provides you easy access to public information maintained by the Secretary of State's office in electronic format. According to Section 134 of the Alabama Constitution, the Secretary of State keeps a register of the official acts of the Governor of Alabama. The Governor has the power to issue proclamations to include, but not limited to, commemorating events, declaring states of emergency, offering rewards for information concerning the harm of Alabama citizens, convening the Alabama legislature, and noting various election events. Access to proclamations from 1822 to the present are available here and with the Alabama Department of Archives and History.

You can access an index of the proclamations from 1822-2010 including volumes A-U and volumes 1-12 with the Alabama Department of Archives and History. To obtain copies of these proclamations, visit the Research Room at the Archives. For more information, call 334-242-4435.
