The National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) provides for three voter registration programs that were new to the State of Alabama in 1995 when the NVRA was first implemented.
You now have the opportunity of registering to vote at a wider variety of places. On this page, you can learn about motor voter registration, agency-based registration, and postcard registration. You may also request a postcard registration form so you can register to vote.
Motor Voter
The National Voter Registration Act is commonly referred to as the "Motor Voter" because one part of the law allows you to apply to register to vote when you apply for your State of Alabama driver's license or identification card.
You may also apply to register to vote when you renew your State of Alabama driver's license or your identification card. Please check with your local probate office or license commissioner's office for further details.
