Secretary of State John Merrill Celebrates Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

Thursday, January 9, 2020 – MONTGOMERY – The following is a direct statement from Secretary of State John H. Merrill in celebration of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day:

Today, our great nation celebrates the service and sacrifice of our law enforcement members!

The risk our law enforcement officers take every single day to serve and protect the people of Alabama is admirable, and I am extremely grateful for their unrelenting service.

Our officers are exemplary public servants, committed to the communities and people they serve.

This morning, I was excited to visit with my friends who work at the Alabama State Capitol and the Alabama State House to express my appreciation for their bravery and hard work.

Law Enforcement Appreciation Day 1

The choice to keep others safe is often difficult and dangerous. We are blessed to have such an outstanding police force not just in Montgomery, but across the State of Alabama!

I encourage everyone to stop and thank the law enforcement officers they encounter not just today on Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, but every day.

Law Enforcement Appreciation Day 2

May God bless these public servants and the entire State of Alabama.
