FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Monday, December 7, 2020 – MONTGOMERY – Last week, Secretary of State John H. Merrill met with Bullock County Probate Judge James Tatum to discuss the administration of the 2020 Election Cycle, which concluded his eighth annual tour of all 67 of Alabama’s counties.
“When I first campaigned for the Office of Secretary of State in 2013, I learned that there is truly no better way to understand the needs of a county than by travelling to that area and listening to the people who make up that community,” stated Secretary Merrill. “Despite the challenges of 2020, we have now made more than 350 unique visits to Alabama’s 67 counties.”
2020 marked the Secretary’s eighth year in a row and the ninth time he has visited each county.
“As we transition back into some sense of normalcy in 2021, I look forward to better serving the citizens of Alabama through meeting with them – whether in-person in their hometowns or virtually, as we have learned to cope with the virus,” Merrill continued.
