Secretary John Merrill Recognizes Steve Flowers


February 27, 2017 - MONTGOMERY - Secretary of State John H. Merrill is excited to announce the date of the NASS award ceremony that will be held in honor of Mr. Steve Flowers. This award is given by Secretaries of States across the nation to recognize people who have contributed extensively to the elections process for the state or nation. Mr. Flowers is an obvious candidate for this award.

Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Flowers was a 16-year veteran of the Alabama Legislature, and was voted the “Most Ethical Member of the House” (1988), the “Most Outstanding Freshman House Member” (1988), and the “Most Outstanding Member of the Alabama House of Representatives” (1992).

Following his career as an elected Alabama Representative, Mr. Flowers has spoken to National news audiences, both through video and written publications, and his publicly-celebrated weekly column is carried by more than 60 Alabama newspapers.
