Register to Vote / Update Your Information

Thank you for your interest in registering to vote in the State of Alabama. Please note that the voter registration application may be used to register to vote OR update your voter registration information. 

To register to vote in Alabama, OR to update your voter registration information, you may:

Important Note! The Alabama Voter Registration application is for use by residents of the State of Alabama only! If you reside in a state other than Alabama, please contact your state or local election officials for information on registering to vote. You may also wish to visit the web site of the Election Assistance Commission to review the federal postcard voter registration form.

Upon determining that you are eligible to vote in your county, the county Board of Registrars' Office will mail you a Voter Identification Card. The Voter Identification Card will provide you the name and address of your polling place as well as a listing of the political districts in which you live. You are NOT required to bring this card with you when voting. If you no longer want to be registered to vote in the State of Alabama, please download this form (NVRA-25). Fill it out completely, sign it, and then mail it to the Board of Registrars of the county where you are registered.

If a family member has passed away or otherwise no longer lives at the address where he or she was previously registered to vote, please download this form (NVRA-24).  Fill it out completely, sign it, and then mail it to the Board of Registrars of the county where the family member was last registered to vote.
