Do I need to reserve a corporate title? Only domestic for-profit corporations are required to reserve a corporate name. We do not reserve a name for a limited liability company.

Domestic LLC Filing

Secretary of State: $40.00
Minimum Probate Judge fee: $35.00

Domestic LLC Procedures

Your corporate name must end with the words Limited Liability Company or an abbreviation of these words (L.L.C. or LLC).

File the original and two copies of the Articles of Organization in the county where the LLC's registered office is located.

The Probate Judge will collect the Secretary of State filing fee and forward it, along with the filed copy, to the Secretary of State.

Foreign LLC Procedures

Your registered name must end with the words Limited Liability Company or an abbreviation of these words (L.L.C. or LLC).

File two original copies of the "Foreign Limited Liability Company Application for Registration" with the Corporations Division of the Secretary of State.

Mail the $75.00 filing fee and two original copies of the "Foreign Limited Liability Company Application for Registration" to Alabama Secretary of State, Attention: Corporations Division, P.O. Box 5616, Montgomery, Alabama 36103 or 11 South Union Street, Room 207, Montgomery, Alabama 36104.
